Hollie Steel’s Britain’s Got Talent 2009 Final Singing Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again

Posted May 30th @ 3:38 pm by Mary

Hollie Steel sung Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again, from Phantom of the Opera, in the Britain’s Got Talent finals. It was an excellent performance.

Hollie really seemed to enjoy the performance, as did the other kids performing today. Great job Hollie. And good luck as you continue to grow and pursue your dreams. Remember to stay true to what you want. Don’t feel the need to do what others expect you to do. If you want to sing. Sing. If you want to take a break from singing to dance. Dance. If you want to stop both and play soccer or study chemistry then do that. Enjoy yourself.

I was actually so worried for her when listening live that I couldn’t tell how well she did. I just listened again and it was really great. I am looking forward to hearing much more from her.

The dance group, Diversity, received the people’s vote and won Britain’s Got Talent 2009 with an amazing performance. Susan Boyle took second with her amazing singing. My other favorite performances of the night were Flawless, Aidan Davis and Stavros Flatley but really every performance was very good.

I loved Hollie’s singing. I loved her voice and she sung all three songs beautifully…. by the way, all three songs are my favorite. Hollie, you are a great little girl… a little star shinning bright right now, and I believe you will keep shinning.

I think she was the best singer last night. The only one who sang 3 different songs in each round. Liked the purity and sincerity of her voice. Very brave to choose ‘Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again’ because this songs inevitably makes people associate it with Sarah Brightman’s rendition but Hollie had an almost perfect go at the song. Good luck and God bless you.

I think Hollie was wonderful in the finals, and I would have picked her #1 with Diversity #2, but congratulations to them. Her song was a little sad for a 10 year old to sing, but it was very difficult and she was brilliant. And I love that she showed respect for the top 3 and clapped along with the others when she was not named. It must have been hard for her, but 10 year olds bounce back fast. I also enjoyed the other singers, but I think Hollie’s voice is the most beautiful of them all. The others are more powerful than beautiful although Susan Boyle is a nice combination of both. Hollie definitely could be the next Sarah Brightman with the proper training and if her health allows her to continue to improve. This girl is just 10 and has all the tools… the vocal range, the beauty in her voice, courage, desire, and a love for what she does. But first, let’s all allow her to be a 10 year old kid. Good luck to you Hollie, and I hope to see you on stage many times in the upcoming years.

I thought Hollie Steel’s final performance was magnificent! Her voice was so pure and innocent and she sang that difficult song so brillantly. My daughter and I love her. Simon’s right that she’s the most beautiful 10-year girl that we have ever seen. I wish you all the best, Hollie and we know you will succeed. Can’t wait to buy your CD. Oh yeah, good luck to you in school. Remember, even though you didn’t win the BGT but you have proven to a lot people that you are very talented (especially those who bullied you). You are a “Winner”!

For me, Hollie Steel is the best thing to come out of BGT 2009. This beautiful girl and her fantastic voice was the main reason I watched the show. Even when she broke down in the semi finals she didn’t let me down at all, it just made me realize she is after all only human and only ten years old.

Her performance in the finals was brilliant and showed that she certainly deserved to get that second chance.

I can’t wait to see Hollie Steel perform again and I would like to send her my very best wishes for the future.

And if I could give her my advice: Don’t ever listen to or pay attention to the negative and rude people that find more pleasure in tearing down than building up.

You already have millions of fans like me all around the world and whenever you perform in the future remember that you are doing it for us, not them.

Hollie you have performed perfectly and wonderfully. I don’t know of another young girl that could have done what you did.
With your growing up you will become one of the best singers.
Just keep up with your studies and keep your goal of being one of the best.

    Hi

Thank you so much for all of your comments, I have made Hollie aware of them and she is forever greatful for the kind words of support. It’s good to know there are gr8 people out in the world. Hollie is presently having some quiet time at home but will be back (Arnie style), to sing more songs to show the world what she can do and hopefully make a CD soon!!!
Once again thanks to you all.

    Regards

    Jason Steel.

To me Hollie is #1 & should have won BGT, she’s got the most beutiful voice that I ever heard in my life & she’s very cute. I love all 3 songs including the 4th song that she did in BGT tour “I Have Confidence”. Her voice is very unique, no one can ever replace Hollie.

The 1st time that I heard of Hollie was when I heard of Susan Boyle in the news and I went on youtube to see her sing “I Dreamed a Dream” & I thought wow, what a voice, then I noticed Hollie & I thought, well I think I’ll check her out also becouse she looks cute, it was Edelweiss & I thought to my biggest surprise, even a bigger wow, as my heart melted & my eyes started to water for the 1st time over a singing voice, I thought she sang it better then in the Sound of Music. Ever since then Hollie has been my all time favorite artist.

I’m so glad that alot of people enjoy her songs as mach as I do, and that this area has lots of good compliments. I can’t wait to buy Hollie’s 1st CD & lots more afterwards including DVDs or Bluerays.

I just discovered you a couple of weeks ago – I was just checking out different BGT video’s and came across your first audition; like Simon, I was bored with it and getting ready to go on to the next when you started singing – Wow! I was blown away. Again, like Simon, I don’t care that much for that song, but I must confess, I’ve watched that video many times since – I continue watching your final performance over and over again – you are fantastic. Your mum and dad are so lucky to have you as their child. I know that if I had a daughter, I would wish her to be just like you. You are beautiful. May your future be true to your dreams – Ben Sinks
