In an incredible performance Hollie Steel came back from an attack of nerves and earned herself a spot in Britain’s Got Talent. Her performances alone show what a great singer she is but her ability to come back after her initial attempt today will earn her many new fans. See her winning performance first and then her initial attempt that ended in tears.
And her emotional first attempt. The initial quote is ironic. “a 10 year old girl tonight who won’t get nervous because she has nerves of steel.”

I really feel sorry for Hollie, she looked absolutely petrified tonight. I really didn’t want her to go through tonight, not because she didn’t deserve a place, but because I think it will be cruel putting the poor girl through another ordeal in the shape of Saturday’s final.

I think people forget that kids can’t want something and be nervous. It seems to me she wants to be in the final. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t also get nervous. There are plenty of professional athletes that get extremely nervous before games. You might look at them at that time and think they wish they didn’t have to play but that isn’t an accurate judgment I don’t think.
With children it is more challenging because you want to protect them more than an adult. But you also should not only protect a child you want to support them in attempts to challenge themselves. To me Hollie has shown she is a young girl and that she has a great desire to preform and can perform amazingly well.
I wish her great success tomorrow. And most of all I hope she enjoys it.

No matter the outcome in BGT 2009 and who wins, Hollie Steel has made a huge name for herself as a very talented girl with such a beautiful voice. I look very much forward to hearing her sing again.
I wish her all the best and a very bright future.

After seeing Hollie’s performance last night I know I’ll be her fan forever. She over came a deep emotional wreck in just a few minutes! No doubt she has a great personality. Amazing singer! I am looking forward to buying her first CD. Would be nice if she records “Edelweiss”.

Hollie did so well last night, it took such courage to walk back on that stage and give such an amazing performance, people who say that she is spoilt and fake are wrong. Hollie is 10 years old and she was extremly nervous, im happy they gave her another chance to prove herself!
Tonight she proved all the [nasty] comments wrong, her performance was amazing! I hope her the best in the future, she is so talented and I cant wait to hear her sing again..
