Update: Watch Hollie Steel Steady Her Nerves and Earn a Spot in the Britain’s Got Talent 2009 Final
Who is Holly Steel? Asked my girlfriend.
Well, you mean Hollie Steel?
Yes, the name is Hollie Steel and not Holly Steel.
But there are more people who are looking for Holly Steel than Hollie Steel when they mean the same. The Britain’s Got Talent girl’s name is spelt with an “ie” unlike “y” which is the more common spelling, but it is a name and what her parents named her is the correct name and the correct spelling.
So Hollie Steel is the 10 year old musical sensation who stands the best chance of winning this Britain’s Got Talent show. She is the daughter of a NHS couple from Accrington, Lancashire. She has a brother Joshua Steel who was the original particiant of the BGT’s audition and but for him, Hollie might have entered the competition since her parents also entered her just as an after thought because her brother was participating. But now, she not only wowed everybody with her audition but is the current favorite of everyone, not excluding the bookies.
And her name is not spelled as Holly Steel, but do a google search and you will see that there are hundreds of mainstream websites and news aggregators who have mis-spelled her name.

Hollie
I wish this gets to you! Always listen to what you want, always!
I think you sing and dance beautifully! a new outfit would be nice but the one you had on BGT won with you, because it was you at that moment.
And one of the most beautiful things that I felt was the surprise that it gave me to see you with that dress singing like that. It was a shock! It marked me!
Good Luck Hollie !!

hee hee my name is spelt like that too. i dont think she is most likely to win at all, especially since she made a mess of her semi-finals performance, and also why do you keep going on about how her name is spelt so much??

Well looks like Hollie is in with a chance…if only for sympathy votes….. Maybe everyone should cock up and be given another chance? SHAMBLES

Greg was robbed. This girl can sing alright, but she got through on the sympathy vote.

So is that all that needs to be done to get into the finals? Pull off a fake cry? Utter disgrace Britains got Talent should be ashamed! Greg had alot more talent….and correct me if im wrong but thats what this ruddy show is about!

Simon Cowell and the BGT team absolutely did the RIGHT thing. This isn’t going to change the world – it is light entertainment and Hollie’s performance was wonderful considering her age.
All you people with adverse comments seem to forget this is only tv. I for one wish her all the very very best for tonight.

I cant believe the bitter comments here about Hollie’s semi-final. If Simon HADNT given her the chance to sing again everyone would be against him. A fake cry?! Hello, were you watching the same show as I was? There was nothing fake about it. And Greg wasnt robbed, a lot of his singing was a little off key last night, though I do like him.
The only problem that may arise is do you restart for anyone that has a problem in the middle of their act. However Simon didnt have time to think of that and did the correct thing.
Hollie was deservedly judged on her 2nd performance which was fantastic, considering the pressure. i cant believe the producers said there was no time initially! If a soccer match got delayed or helo up due to injury or crowd trouble would they cut it off?
Anyway Hollie (if your reading this) good luck to you tonight from Ireland (Sorry we’re not allowed to vote, more crap!) but dont be disappointed if you dont win as all 10 acts are genuinely excellent. Id love to hear you sing “Whispering Hope”. Good luck!

I have to agree with Chris and Ken, why does a talent show have to create such negativity towards a ten year old girl. The show is about talent, Hollie obviouosly has it. I think that the decision was made based on her ability to perform well in contrast to other acts that, if given a chance to peform again, would be horrible.

She was a disgrace, she can’t sing amazingly. Nothing more than a average 12-13 old kid. She went for the Sympathy Vote and made a mockery of Greg’s effort.
Good job voters

Hollie
I thought you sang beautifully on Saturday in the final, it was such a shame you didn’t win, but what do they know. Just follow the dream and it can all be yours.
Good Luck,
Can’t wait to see you in next years BGT, (you’ll win then)
Ignore all the nasty stuff that is being said here and all the bullies, they are only jealous.
God Bless.

Dear Hollie,
I hope you do read these posts because there are a lot of people cheering for you! Congratulations on getting so far in the competition, you have a lot of guts for such a young girl. You give me so much inspiration! Unfortunatly, there are always negative comments when you are out in the spotlight, so learn to let them bounce off you, as you really are a pure shining star! I can’t wait for your CD to come out!!!!
God Bless,
